Sam Vincent was a 6-2 point guard who carved out a seven-year NBA career with Boston, Seattle, Chicago and Orlando.
Drafted with the 20th overall pick by the Celtics in the 1985 NBA Draft, Vincent's crowning achievement was being a part of Boston's 1986 championship team.
Coming out of Michigan State where he was a second and third team All-American, Vincent averaged 17 points, three assists and a steal a game over his four seasons, including an average of 23ppg in his final season. Vincent was also the recipient of the State of Michigan "Mr Basketball" award in 1981.
After two seasons with the Celtics, Vincent joined the Sonics, before being traded to Chicago. He played some of his best basketball with the Bulls, before being selected by Orlando in their 1989 expansion draft.
He finished his career with the Magic with great success. In fact, the best game of his career came with Orlando in 1992 when he had 35 points, eight rebounds and seven assists against his former team Seattle.
Post playing career, Vincent got into coaching at both domestic and international level, which lead to him coaching the Charlotte Bobcats for the 2007-2008 NBA season.
