Linton Townes was a 6-7 small forward from James Madison University who played three seasons in the NBA for Portland, Milwaukee, San Diego and San Antonio between 1982-1985.
Drafted with the 33rd overall pick by Portland in the 1982 NBA Draft, Townes was a solid prospect coming out of JMU with averages of 14.5ppg, 5.9rpg & 2.0apg.
Townes played 55 of his 60 career NBA games in his rookie season, where he averaged 4.5ppg & 1.2rpg in just over 9mpg of action.
His best career outing was in 1983 against Denver, where he totalled 20 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block and an assist.
Post his NBA career, Townes played successfully in Europe right up until the age of 39.
