Kenny 'Sky' Walker was a high-flying, 6-8 forward out of Kentucky who played for seven seasons in the NBA with New York and Washington.
A star in college where he averaged 20ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.4apg, 1.5spg & 1.5bpg in his final year, Walker was taken 5th overall by the Knicks in the 1986 NBA Draft.
Walker averaged 7.7ppg & 4.2rpg in five seasons with the Knicks, before going to play in Europe for two years. He then returned to the NBA in Washington for two seasons as a role player.
Walker's crowing achievement was winning the 1989 slam dunk competition, just three days after the passing of his father.
His best game as a pro was his 26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal against Indiana in his rookie year.
He was honoured by Kentucky by having his #34 jersey retired, where he was a second-team All-American in 1985 and a first-team All-American in 1986. He was also a two-time SEC player of the year.
