'Downtown Freddie Brown' was a 6-3 point guard out of the University of Iowa who played his entire 13-year NBA career with the Seattle Supersonics between 1971-1984.
Drafted with the sixth pick in the 1971 NBA Draft, Brown averaged 22.7ppg & 4.6rpg with Iowa before beginning his NBA career.
Brown averaged 14.6ppg, 2.7rpg,3.3apg & 1.4spg over the course of his career, endearing himself to Sonics fans everywhere for his high level of play. The highlight of his career was no doubt being a part of the 1979 Championship team, as well as being named an all-star in 1976.
Post-career, Brown had his #32 jersey retired by the Sonics, and at the time of his retirement, he led the Sonics franchise in games played, points scored, field goals made and free throws made. To this day, he still holds the all-time single-game scoring record of the franchise with 58, points in a playoff game with 45, and steals in a game with 10.
